Jekyll and Hyde

Your words, they cut.
A knife held straight to my heart.
A knowing smile with a grin,
sordid anticipation.
waiting for the salty tears to come,
the ink to smudge,
the blood to change colors in the air.

I hide nothing.
I shield nothing.
Soon enough, you will turn away,
pain forgotten,
inky tears forgotten.
While you pretend this is just another day.
